Our team partners with EHE instructors and staff to create engaging learning experiences in the areas of course design, educational technology, innovation, and multimedia production.

Course Design Support Services

Full Course Design Support
- What: course newly online and/or not previously designed for online delivery
- Service: an Instructional Designer (ID) will be dedicated to your course design project – from initial planning phases through design and set-up in the LMS (CarmenCanvas). ID can provide a range of services, based on the needs of your course, including:
- Custom Design within CarmenDesign of your course content, activities, assessmentsInteractive media for increase engagementDeveloping your course vision into an online deliveryInteractive learning tool integration and enhancementSo much more – helping you develop your course vision into an online delivery approach that is evidence based and supported by research.
- Timeline: typically runs 12-20 weeks from initial planning through full course design. Full Course Designs should begin more than 1 full semester prior to the anticipated launch of the course.
- Service: an Instructional Designer (ID) will be dedicated to your course design project – from initial planning phases through design and set-up in the LMS (CarmenCanvas). ID can provide a range of services, based on the needs of your course, including:
Partial Course Design Support
- What: course template support, interactive media development, portions of an existing online course to be revised
- Service: an Instructional Designer (ID) will provide consultation on and delivery of custom resources, like course template implementation, development of interactive learning objects, or revisions to existing online course content.
- Timeline: typically runs 2-8 weeks and depends on the needs of the course and instructor. To avoid delays, we recommend beginning at least 1 semester prior to the anticipated launch of the course.
Consultative Course Design Support
- What: resources and/or templates provided for self-design
- Service: support provided through resources, workshops, and other just-in-time guides. Offerings in this service may include, but are not limited to, standard course templates, resources for multimedia and LMS support, workshops and tutorials.
- Timeline: typically runs 2-8 weeks and depends on the needs of the course and instructor. To avoid delays, we recommend beginning at least 1 semester prior to the anticipated launch of the course. This option is recommended for someone who has previously designed an online course, is comfortable with designing in the LMS (CarmenCanvas), or is on a shorter timeline.
Instructional Videos
Our expert video producer will work with EHE instructors on their course-related video needs. From course introduction videos, to beautiful instructional tutorials or course promotional videos, we’ll have you covered!
Course Assurance Review
In accordance with OSU and EHE Curriculum requirements, the EHE Course Assurance process is required for all distance education course in EHE. To begin, review and complete the full Course Assurance Process.
Technical Support
While working with EHE instructors on their distance education courses, we offer one-on-one support. We also offer support for instructors using one of our sponsored EHE eLearning tools (Thinglink, Hypothesis, H5P). For support with these tools, please submit the General Intake Request option located on this page.
